The King has previously expressed support for Zelensky and Ukraine, saying the country had experienced ”indescribable aggression” following Russia’s ”unprovoked attack on their land”.

The Ukrainian people have shown ”truly remarkable courage and resilience in the face of such human tragedy”, the King said last year.

”King Charles has met Volodymyr Zelenskyy at his Norfolk estate, Sandringham, shortly after Ukraine’s president attended the prime minister’s summit for European leaders.

Zelenskyy arrived at Sandringham House by helicopter from London shortly before 5.30pm and his meeting with the king lasted just under an hour, including refreshments. Sources indicated the president was warmly received.”
