Nu kommer regnet: äntligen! Naturen behöver det så väl! Jag – och många jag pratat med – har varit oroliga för blåbärsrisen som har massor med blommor, men riskerar att förlora dem om det inte kommer regn, helst igår.
Dessutom har vi på minst två olika ställen här i närheten varit nära katastrofal skogsbrand. I ett fall blev det en riktig skogsbrand, men räddningstjänst lyckades släcka relativt fort. Det andra var en liten markbrand som låg och pyrde efter att några snillen eldat rakt på marken vid sjön.
Jag kommer aldrig förstå det här behovet som många verkar ha att elda när de kommer ut i naturen. Och i synnerhet när det är knastertorrt i markerna. Jag skulle inte kunna sova efteråt. Skulle förmodligen åka tillbaka mitt i natten för att kontrollera att elden verkligen är släckt – vilket vissa uppenbarligen borde ha gjort…
Men-men. Den långa, torra perioden avslutades i alla fall med två fantastiskt fina dagar med sol och 20-25 grader – glad att jag inte behövde sitta inne på ett kontor då… Hundarna och jag tog extra god tid på oss när vi gick sista Kroksjörundan igår och pausade på flera olika ställen runt sjön och chillade. Himlen var sådär overkligt blå! ”Inte ett moln så långt ögat kan nå…”
ESC-finalen gick ju av stapeln i helgen. Det blev varken Céline Dion-uppträdande eller KAJ-vinst, men så mycket annat. Inte alltigenom den bästa musiken, förvisso, men ESC bjuder i alla fall alltid på underhållning, god vilja och massor av kreativitet.
Och min andra favorit – efter KAJ – gick och vann! Österrike! Ett superkreativt, dramatiskt nummer, Wasted love, talangfullt framfört av JJ. Så roligt!
och står på rätt sida av historien. Under sin konsert i Manchester häromdagen talade han till publiken:

They are removing residents off American streets and, without due process of law, are deporting them to foreign detention centres and prisons. This is all happening now.
A majority of our elected representatives have failed to protect the American people from the abuses of an unfit president and a rogue government. They have no concern or idea of what it means to be deeply American.
The America l’ve sung to you about for 50 years is real and regardless of its faults is a great country with a great people. So we’ll survive this moment. Now, I have hope, because I believe in the truth of what the great American writer James Baldwin said. He said, ‘In this world, there isn’t as much humanity as one would like, but there’s enough.’ Let’s pray.”
